The resilience and self-determination of these students to be able to stay focused in such extraordinary circumstances has been incredibly impressive and the staff are in ore of their efforts.

BA(Hons) Graphic and Communication Design Level 5

Our Level 5 students have had another outstanding year, entering work for International design competitions and participating in lengthy internships with local design agencies. Expect to see a number of cleverly crafted concepts this year in the form of branding/ advertising campaigns, packaging, illustrated children’s books, game design and publication design.

BA(Hons) Applied Interior Design
Level 6

The course has been a mixture of practical and academic skills with a lot of theoretical research and some of this can be seen in the work, such as the attention to ethics and sustainability which is such a topical subject and paramount consideration in the future of the built environment. Over the course the students have worked with external experts and clients, as each project is designed to be as close to industry as possible. Our students emerge with not only an industry standard skill set, but the confidence to deal with clients directly and present their projects to a professional audience. They leave the course ready for immediate employment.

BA(Hons) Art Practice Level 5

BA (Hons) Art Practice focuses on practical art and critical-contextual skills. The programme is built on traditional techniques delivered by expert practitioners – something we consider to be different from many ‘Fine Art’ based degree programmes. The communication of subject matter and concepts through media and processes is delivered in parallel with critical-contextual skills.

The modules build a cohesive study of workshop development (print, 3D and photography), artist studio methodology, theme/concept development skills and ‘live’ briefs and academic studies of contextual themes. This is supported by an introduction to research and writing skills, with all students learning to develop their ideas through practice and research.
